The trend, decoded

The Bulin 47 trend, from a Madrid doorway to your feed

A Colombian creator with a speaker, a Dominican dembow artist on a night out, and a 46-second clip the internet kept rebuilding with new faces.

The short answer

The Bulin 47 trend started with a street freestyle filmed outside a restaurant in Madrid on 2 October 2026: Kevin Wai played a dembow beat on a portable speaker, and Dominican artist Bulin 47 rapped into his phone, then laughed while Kevin took over. Days later AI versions began swapping other faces into Bulin 47’s spot, and the duo released the song "Dame Hombro" on 8 October.

The one with the speaker

A Colombian creator who approaches people with a portable speaker and gets them to freestyle. He posts on TikTok as @kevincitooficial11; you will also see "Kevin Way" or "Kevincito".

What happens in the clip

Our own read of the stretch every AI version uses, counted from the moment the camera finds the performer.

  1. 0 to 7 s

Rapping straight at the phone, hands keeping time on every line while the crowd starts filming.

  2. 7 to 12 s

Leaning toward the speaker, rubbing his head and laughing as Kevin takes over the vocals.

  3. 12 to 15 s

Looking down at the phone with a grin while the beat runs on.

How it spread

  1. 2 Oct

Both men post the freestyle on TikTok in the early hours, Madrid time.

  2. 6 Oct

The first AI versions appear with other faces in the performer’s spot.

  3. 8 Oct

"Dame Hombro", the song built on the moment, gets an official video on the Bulin 47 Oficial YouTube channel.

  4. 9 to 13 Oct

Press across Latin America, Spain and the Arab world covers the trend; footballers, politicians and streamers turn up in versions and reactions.

Kevin Wai's original TikTok post showed 5.6 million views and 669,000 likes when we checked it on 2026-10-12.

Why everyone remixed this one

  • 1

    One face, one camera move

A single performer in a steady handheld shot is easy for AI to follow and easy to recognise.

  • 2

    A beat that fits anyone

Dembow energy works on a footballer, a grandmother or a golden retriever.

  • 3

    A pause for the punchline

The laugh in the middle gives viewers a beat to react to the new face.

  • 4

    A song kept it alive

"Dame Hombro" put the moment back in feeds a week later.

FAQ

Asked and answered

Where was the Bulin 47 video filmed?

Outside a restaurant in Spain at night, reported as Madrid. The red entrance light is why every version glows red.

Is it Kevin Wai or Kevin Way?

The press uses both spellings. His TikTok handle is @kevincitooficial11.

Is the original clip AI?

No. The 2 October freestyle is a real recording. The AI part is the fan versions that swap the performer.

Did Bulin 47 make the AI versions?

No. They are fan remixes made with various tools. Bulin 47 and Kevin Wai released the song "Dame Hombro" themselves.

Can I make my own version?

Yes, from one photo in the booth on the home page.
